Over the last decade Ulverston has lost 9 essential and well-used community spaces and more are under threat. Meanwhile, the communities have been changing and growing and groups have sprung up to deal with new needs and demands. These groups now find themselves struggling for space. Ulverston and surrounding area needs an accessible space for community groups to meet, for making activities that feed the town’s numerous festivals and for organisations that support the community to be based and provide their essential services.
