The project is led and managed by The Old Mart Group CIC, a community interest company formed by a group of committed local volunteers.

The Old Mart's Board has been formed by volunteers linked to a range of interested projects, including members of the Ulverston Food Project, the Ulverston Resilience Group and Ulverston Lantern Festival.
